Ruggenmergstimulatie
Bij ruggenmergstimulatie worden met een neurotransmitter kleine stroompjes afgegeven op het ruggenmerg. Deze behandeling wordt vaak toegepast voor andere aandoeningen, bijvoorbeeld chronische pijn. Er zijn maar een paar mensen die deze behandeling voor OT hebben ondergaan, beschreven in de literatuur. Het effect lijkt vergelijkbaar te zijn met het effect van DBS, waarbij dit per persoon behoorlijk verschilt. In Nederland is dit geen standaardtherapie voor OT.
